   Convocation This is our first year being a part of Convocation.  A once a year, PreK through 12th grade community day.  What are the movements (American sign language) we learned for the song  D raw the circle wide ? How many chunks (syllables) in Convocation ? What is a Community?

 A lot of transitions today.  Spanish, E&P (Engineering and Programming) , Art and Photo day!   We discussed how to be Respectful and read, My mouth is a Volcano Questions: What was in Mr. Druskin's box? Do you remember the robots name? What is one way you can be respectful? Reminder: September 15th is a noon dismissal day

  Ms Kristin, our Music Teacher                                                           Señora Urbina, our Spanish Teacher Yesterday we talked about our Welcome Rule.  Today we  read a silly story called We don't eat our Classmates, which helped us start the conversation about ways we can be safe, and help others feel safe. What bug joined us at morning meeting? What did you learn about glue sticks and glue in a squeeze bottle? How did Penelope the dinosaur feel when everyone was too frightened to play with her?

  We looked at different types of paper:  writing paper, construction paper, card stock and tag board. What happened when you used the hole puncher with the different types of paper? What shapes did you create with the hole punchers? We had our first P.E class with Mr. Shelp.  What type of games did you play?

  What a busy day!  The children explored areas of the room they didn't have time to explore yesterday.  The big blocks were a definite hit. We ended our morning by reading  There was a lot to think about while reading this book and it created a lot of dialogue.  This is one conversation we had while looking at an image of a person in a wheelchair.  "Why is the person in a wheelchair." Ben  "Maybe broken feet." Cameryn " How would he get to the hospital"  Lucca "Ambulance!" Joey " Maybe he drove himself?  Did he fall out of the car and hurt himself?" Arthur We came to an agreement that some one helped them get to hospital.   Questions: What songs did we sing? What did we have for snack?
